New Jersey trivia buffs have a new way to flex their esoteric knowledge, courtesy of Hard Rock Digital and Playtech. Those companies have teamed up to launch a live trivia game show for online casino players in NJ.
The weekly free-to-play game will start next week, offering nerds and casual trivia fans alike a chance to showcase their knowledge for prizes. The game’s name hasn’t been confirmed yet beyond Hard Rock calling it a “Live Trivia Game Show” in its announcement press release.
Rich Criado, Hard Rock Digital’s VP – Casino, said:
Live Trivia provides that type of calendared entertainment that we think players will look forward to and engage with on a regular basis – just like a trivia game they may play at their neighborhood restaurant or watch on tv. Similarly, it can replicate that neighborhood trivia experience and the sense of community it fosters with an energetic host and fellow competitors.

What We Know So Far
The trivia game will be free to play for Hard Rock Bet holders in New Jersey. It will air each Wednesday, with the first run taking place on May 7. Hard Rock Trivia is expected to run for at least a month, but it may be a recurring event if it proves popular enough.
Prizes for winners are likely, but neither Hard Rock nor Playtech has announced specifics beyond the possibilities of free spins and Golden Chips. More details will come when the trivia game goes live next week.
New Jersey players looking to brush up on their trivia can on May 7, and maybe watch some Jeopardy! in the meantime.
Playtech Hopes Trivia Attracts New Demographics
Playtech VP US Business Operations Jonathan Doubilet thinks trivia could be a way to encourage the younger generations to give online casinos a try. He says Boomers, Gen X, and Gen Y tend to enjoy familiarity in their gaming experiences.
Younger generations, such as Millennials and Gen Alpha, approach gaming differently. Without prior exposure to traditional casino slots, their entertainment choices are shaped by social media, streaming services, and influencer-driven content. Their increased screen time demands more interactive and engaging digital experiences that align with their habits and expectations.
