Crash-style games have begun making their way into the real-money US casino market, often popping up in new formats and with plenty of new mechanics. Sometimes, you might be hard-pressed to call them crash games at all, and DraftKings Dig! is in that category.
Dig! may or may not be a crash game depending on who you ask. It’s definitely in the press-your-luck genre, but its turn-based gameplay, five-round duration, and randomized prizes make it feel pretty different from something like Rocket, DraftKings’ more traditional addition to the world of crash games.
It even has a strategy that can impact your returns, something most crash games lack. The mining theme is original, too.

How Dig! Works

You’re an adorable prospector with a comically large pickaxe in Dig! Choose where you’d like to dig, then hope for a diamond. That will increase your potential winnings. Be careful, though, because hitting dynamite will end your round without giving you a payout. You can choose to cash out any time before hitting a dynamite.
Make it down five levels to have a shot at the maximum prize of 250 times your wager. It’s a classic risk-reward trade off. The further you go, the higher your prize, but also the higher the chance that you’ll lose everything.
Whereas most crash or press-your-luck games have set multipliers along their pathway, Dig! doles out random rewards for diamonds. You might get lucky and land a valuable diamond on level one or two. It’s a fun twist that makes things a little more interesting. If you prefer your games with a little dash of unpredictability, Dig! may be for you.
Perfect strategy for DraftKings Dig!

The theoretical RTP of Dig! is 97.02% but you might do worse than that if you cash out too often. Black Throne Studios lists helpful strategy pointers in the game’s pay table section. It suggests cashing out at the following points.
- Level 1: Prize of 9.30x your bet or higher
- Level 2: Prize of 14.66x your bet or higher
- Level 3: Prize of 20.92x your bet or higher
- Level 4: Prize of 75.39x your bet or higher
Those are pretty aggressive targets, so referring to the table is helpful. Otherwise, it might be pretty tempting to walk away with, say, 10x at Level 3 rather than risk it. Most of the time, you’ll want to commit to mining all the way.
That said, just because the developer suggests these thresholds for cashing out doesn’t mean you have to abide by them. You are always welcome to cash out or push your luck to the next level if desired. Just be aware that you’ll be sacrificing some RTP to do so.
Keep Digging with Autoplay
Want to dig, dig, dig to your heart’s content? You can use autoplay to play many rounds in a row without manually selecting your path every time. You can select a random path or a specific one from the autoplay menu, then toggle other options, such as auto cashout, when to stop (on a certain win or loss, for example), and total number of bets. Give it a go for longer sessions and enjoy the dig without the hard work.
