Iowa sports betting launch follows successful Ohio takeoff

The company’s entry into Iowa follows its successful New Year’s Day launch in Ohio.

In the Buckeye State, Tipico was one of several operators to usher in Ohio sports betting. Tipico is also the official sports betting partner of the Major League Soccer club Columbus Crew.

On launch day, Ohio had 16 online sports betting operators ready to go, the single biggest online launch in the US. Experts are speculating, once fully mature, Ohio can be one of the biggest sports betting markets in the US.

In addition to the 16 online operators, there are twelve retail sportsbooks and over 1,000 self-service kiosks. Customers can find sports betting kiosks at bars, restaurants, bowling alleys and grocery stores.

With its launch, Ohio is now the 32nd US state to allow legal, regulated sports betting.
