People in Minnesota don’t have to leave their homes to see if they’ve won prizes playing Minnesota Lottery games. Now, they won’t have to leave their homes to play certain lottery games in MN, either, thanks to theLotter.
theLotter is a courier service for sales of tickets for draw-style lottery games now available in Minnesota. The appeal of the service is about more than just the option to buy tickets online, however.
theLotter makes Minnesota lottery sales hotter
Until now, MN Lottery players have had one option for buying tickets: visiting a retailer. Now, theLotter gives them a second choice for certain games, like:
- Gopher 5
- Lotto America
- Mega Millions
- Northstar Cash
- Powerball
Lottery courier services have already operated in other states. The basic function is that of a gopher for lottery tickets. The services go to the lottery retailers and purchase physical lottery tickets.
They then scan the tickets and disperse them according to their orders. Customers view scans of their actual tickets in their s and see if they’ve won after the drawings happen.
If a player wins $600 or less, their prize money is automatically added to their . If a player wins a prize of greater value, the company sends them the physical ticket with which they can claim their prize at a claim center.
The service definitely eliminates an errand on customers’ lists. It also provides some different options for s as well.
theLotter added features available in the service
According to a press release, theLotter customers get access to features not available at retailers. Those include:
- Real-time jackpot alerts
- Rewards like free tickets
- Subscription packages for individual games
- Special multi-draw buying options
“We have been around as a company since 2002 when we pioneered online lottery play. Our recent launch in Minnesota is a great milestone. I am truly excited about the potential for growth in Minnesota and the additional funds we will help provide for local wildlife protection, education, public safety, and other causes,” said Peggy Daniel, theLotter’s US Managing Director.
“Online lottery play offers convenience and safety, and all past winners have successfully claimed their prize money and collected their winnings, which has strongly aided the trust our customers have developed in theLotter.”
Buying tickets this way won’t enhance anyone’s chances of winning. It can make playing a bit easier, though, and that’s a win of sorts in and of itself.
