With another drawing scheduled for tonight, a lucky winner could hit the $448 million Powerball Jackpot.

With nobody cashing in the winning ticket on the last drawing on March 9, the prize has jumped $34 million. Two players, one in Maryland, were lucky enough to each match five numbers and win $1 million.

The March 9 winning Powerball numbers were 05-06-45-55-50, Powerball 14, with a Powerplay 3x.

In order to win this mega lottery jackpot, players must get all five numbers correct plus the Powerball. New Powerball numbers are drawn at 10:59 EST every Wednesday and Saturday.

Powerball jackpots mean big numbers

The odds of winning Powerball and claiming such a lucrative prize are 1 in 292,201,338. The nine-figure jackpot is estimated to carry a $271.7 million cash value. Tonight’s drawing will be the 16th largest Powerball jackpot on record, according to the Charlotte Observer.

In January, Brooklyn, New York native David Johnson, claimed the $298.3 million jackpot, the closest such prize to date.

On October 23, the $1.5 billion Mega Millions drawing was the second-largest drawing of all time. A winner in South Carolina finally came forward this month to claim the single largest jackpot win in history. That anonymous customer opted for the cash option valued at $878 million.
