PointsBet Sportsbook Finally Launches In Virginia

PointsBet, which is headquartered in Australia, is now available in Virginia after launching in several other states.

PointsBet has launched its sports betting platform in Virginia.

Furthermore, it marks the eighth state where the Australian-based online gaming operator with an American headquarters in Colorado has begun taking sports wagers. PointsBet entered the market in a partnership with the Colonial Downs race track.

As a result, the company is now available in:

  • Colorado
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, in particular, states in a release:

“We are thrilled to be launching in Virginia with our partner Colonial Downs, now bringing our best-in-market technology to such a ionate sports community.”

In addition, Colonial Downs Group COO Aaron Gomes in a release:

“Colonial Downs Group is proud to partner with PointsBet, a premier sports betting platform and one of the most successful operators in the nation. We are pleased to help bring this gaming option to our loyal customers and other gamers in Virginia.”

Virginia almost at a dozen sportsbooks with more to come

Virginia now boasts 11 sportsbook operators. Regulators speculate that as many as 15 could be active by the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

For example, Virginia law allows for as many as 18 online sportsbooks.

PointsBet brings its unique system to another state

Above all, PointsBet is trying to wedge its way in with a bonus offer worth up to $2,000 for new customers. However, PointsBet’s betting system is unique in the American market, basically providing the chance to win or lose more significant amounts on total bets. Here’s a tutorial.

However, Colonial Downs is a subsidiary of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, which suffered a setback earlier in the week when voters scuttled their plan to open a casino in Slidell, La.
