Online gambling company BetMGM announced the launch of its National Hockey League (NHL) branded online casino games. NHL-branded titles include roulette, blackjack, baccarat and the new live Money Wheel game, Dream Catcher.
The games are available on the BetMGM Casino app for Michigan players, as well as players from New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
BetMGM’s NHL-Branded games powered by Evolution
BetMGM created casino games with an NHL spin with the goal of increasing fan engagement with the league.
The games are developed in partnership with Evolution and feature 3-D renderings and animations, delivering an immersive experience. Each game features a unique ‘go live’ button, taking players directly onto the ice and into BetMGM’s live dealer version of the same game.
The NHL’s logo is notably present in each game, as well as team logos that are cycling throughout the rendered arena.
NHL-branded casino games include:
- NHL Roulette, which features realistic ball movements with interactive results and statistics
- NHL Blackjack, which has its players placed at a table inside an arena skybox with the ability to move virtually between seats
- NHL Baccarat, which offers players an experience very similar to a live casino game, emphasized by many of the game’s same features
- Dream Catcher allows players to place a bet on the number on which they think the wheel will stop, amplifying the suspense of various multipliers
BetNGM and NHL broaden their relationship
Speaking of the launch, Oliver Bartlett, BetMGM’s Director of Gaming emphasized:
“The launch of these one-of-a-kind games further strengthens our relationship with the NHL. As the season approaches, we’re thrilled that our players will have the ability to ‘drop the puck’ with BetMGM.”
Jason Jazayeri, NHL Vice President, Business Development, added:
”We’re excited to broaden our relationship with BetMGM through the development of NHL-branded casino games, particularly when these new platforms allow us to deepen the connection NHL fans have to our sport in a more immersive and compelling way. We look forward to collaborating with BetMGM on other fan-centric efforts in years to come.”
NHL new to partnering with operators
The NHL is relatively new to having partnerships with casino and sportsbook operators in the online betting industry.
In April this year, the league revealed a pair of multiyear partnership deals it made with FanDuel and BetMGM, which were the NHL’s first North American sports betting partners. The announcement came three days after Ontario launched its regulated single-game sports betting market.
As part of these expanded North American partnerships, FanDuel and BetMGM have the right to use official NHL branding and category designations in various ways to appeal to fans in legal jurisdictions across the United States and Canada.
