Remote registration in Illinois is back.

Those looking to sign up at legal sportsbooks in Illinois no longer have to visit casinos. Instead, s can from Illinois sports betting s from the comfort of their home or wherever they have a wi-fi signal. 

On top of this, Illinois is also welcoming its seventh legal sportsbook, BetMGM.

With seven legal operators and the return of remote registration, March Madness betting is in a position to help Illinois break records.

Is Illinois remote registration a plus?

Remote registration has proven beneficial in other states, such as Indiana, New Jersey, and New York. DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said the company was able to sign up 100,000 paid New York bettors in less than 24 hours.

Even when s had to visit physical locations to for s, Illinois became the fourth-largest sports betting market in the US. Without mobile registration for most of 2021, Illinois took in over $7 billion in bets, with its most profitable month being October — $840.4 million.

More sportsbooks on the way for Illinois?

Although it’s still unknown when additional operators will launch, others are on the way. Currently, three anonymous online-only applications are pending with the state gaming board.
