Michigan, Pennsylvania Once Again Break Online Casino Revenue Records

Both Michigan ($145M) and Pennsylvania ($155M) posted another monthly record for online casino revenue in November 2022

Online casinos in Pennsylvania and Michigan are ending the year with record-setting months in of online casino revenue. 

In November, beating October’s total of $151.7 million. Similarly, Michigan online casinos collected over $145.5 million in revenue for November, up 3.2% from October. 

PA online casinos post big November revenue figures

With one month left, lifetime tax revenue from online casinos in Pennsylvania is approaching $1.1 billion. This is the most tax revenue from any state offering legal online casinos. 

Online slots were the top revenue generator with $113 million.

  • Table games – $39.4 million
  • Online poker – $2.5 million
  • Taxes – $47.4 million

Currently, 18 online casino brands are operating in the state. Experts anticipate more online casino operators to enter the state with WynnBet Casino potentially receiving approval soon. 

It should be noted only four operators offer online poker options. 

  • Hollywood Penn National
  • Rivers Philadelphia
  • Mount Airy
  • Harrah’s Philadelphia

The online casino market is partially dominated by three brands. 

  • Hollywood Penn National – $66.9 million
  • Rivers Philadelphia – $34.4 million
  • Valley Forge – $30.1 million

Combined, these three brands ed for $131.4 million in revenue or 84% of the market share. The next closest operator is Mount Airy with $6.3 million.

Michigan online casino breakdown

For November, online casinos in Michigan generated $27.1 million in state taxes. Additionally, iGaming also brought in $10.4 million to local entities. 

By revenue, the top performer in the Wolverine State is BetMGM Michigan with $53.6 million. Michigan has 14 online casino operators including popular brands like Barstool, DraftKings, and FanDuel. 

Unfortunately, figures released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board do not break down online casinos by type. 

November numbers:

  • Taxes – $38.6 million
  • Revenue – $145.4 million

Top three earners by revenue:

  • BetMGM – $53.6 million
  • FanDuel – $27.1 million
  • DraftKings – $23.2 million

After DraftKings, there is a significant drop in market share, with BetRivers bringing in $8.6 million.
