The Kindred Group, operator of Unibet Sportsbook, and the Swinomish Tribe are teaming up to bring a new sportsbook to Anacortes, Washington. Kindred and Swinomish will launch the Unibet & Swinomish Sportsbook at Swinomish Casino & Lodge, pending licensure and regulatory approvals.

According to a press release, the partnership is for six years with a five-year right to extend.

More expansion for Kindred’s Unibet Sportsbook

Once operational, Washington will be the seventh state with a Unibet sportsbook. WA sports betting is only legal at tribal casinos. Additionally, mobile betting is only allowed while on tribal land.

Other locations include:

  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Iowa
  • Arizona
  • Indiana

In a statement, Manuel Stan, SVP of North America Kindred Group, said:

“We are very excited to expand our footprint in the US and to do so together with the Swinomish tribe. The opening of a Sportsbook Lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will allow us to offer best in class sports betting experience.”

Growing its North American product

The US isn’t the only market where Kindred is investing resources. In March, the company announced it secured an Ontario sports betting license, pledging to launch its Unibet brand by April.

At the time, Kindred said securing an Ontario license was a “significant milestone” for the company.

“We are proud to have received permission to launch in Ontario on the first day the market opens and look forward to building long-term relationships with our customers and partners. The iGaming market in Ontario is expected to be one of the largest in North America, which makes it a truly interesting proposition for Kindred.”
