The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casino brand hosted a media tour to view the construction progress at Four Winds South Bend Casino.
The Tribal Council also provided an update on the expansion of its Indiana casino, saying it is now almost 80% complete.
The venue is expected to create hundreds of new jobs once its expansion is completed in the first quarter of 2023.
Four Winds Casino’s latest construction update
The Four Winds South Bend Casino resort’s expansion is well underway and is expected to be finalized in Q1 of 2023.
New amenities at the Indiana casino and resort include a 23-story hotel tower with 317 rooms and 83 suites. The team is currently working on an expansion of the resort, which will also feature a convention area, meeting space, ballroom, lounge, bar and grille, outdoor third-floor swimming pool and terraces.

Frank Freedman, chief operating officer of Four Winds Casinos was the one leading a media tour on Oct 13.
As Freedman explained:
“With much of the exterior work now complete, we are excited to focus our attention to the interior features and finishes that our guests will enjoy as part of their overall entertainment experience at Four Winds South Bend. We are also excited to provide some initial details on Cedar Spa, which we believe will be a very attractive amenity. We hope the South Bend community shares in our excitement as we prepare for the unveiling early next year.”
The tour also showed surrounding spaces with the hotel tower and Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center. The 24,000-square-foot conference center has 16 meeting rooms, a 600-seat ballroom, two pre-function bar areas, a business center and outdoor pre-function space.
Rebecca Richards, Tribal chairwoman of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, added:
“We are thrilled to see many of the new interior features of Four Winds South Bend take shape as we near the final phases of construction. We appreciate all of the hard work from our casino operations team, project manager, general contractors, construction workers and vendors to keep the project moving forward. The completed casino resort is going to be spectacular.”
The venue’s extensive gaming floor was unveiled in August. The 98,000 square foot area includes 1,900 slot machines, 27 table games, and a new high-limit area.
Indiana’s Four Winds South Bend Casino to provide hundreds of new jobs
According to the project, the expansion of Four Winds South Bend will bring 350 construction jobs, with an additional 350 to 400 new jobs at the casino resort once construction is finalized.
The project was first revealed in September 2019 but had to be delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic and workforce challenges. The venue received approval for Class III gaming in August 2021.
