Rhode Island Online Casino Revenue Nearly Hits $3 Million In August

Simply put, Rhode Island online casinos are on fire.

In August, revenue jumped 14.2% month-over-month, according to the latest data from the Rhode Island Lottery. The state’s iGaming revenue has increased every month since online casinos launched in March.

RI online gaming win is ready to $3 million in a month

Since RI’s March 2024 iGaming revenue debuted at $1.2 million.

Since then revenue nearly doubled in April, then rose by 8.3% in May, 3.5% in June, 11.3% in July and 14.2% this past month.

Online slots drove August’s double-digit growth, posting a 19% increase over July. Additionally, slots revenue ed $2 million for the first time since launching.

On the table games side, RI online casino revenue ed $800,000 in July and kept that growth going in August with an $839,637 performance.

While Rhode Island’s growth has been impressive, the test will come in the next 10 months. July marked the beginning of the RI lottery’s fiscal year. We’ll get a clearer picture of what market maturity looks like in Rhode Island.

We’ll likely see revenue climb past $3 million in the next two or three months. From there, the next benchmark would likely be $3.5 million in March, which tends to be the biggest month for US online casino revenue.

At the rate the national online casino revenue is rising, hitting $4 million by the end of the next calendar year is a possibile for Rhode Island iGaming.

US online casino revenue continues to climb

Rhode Island’s booming start to iGaming reflects the US online casino growth rate as a whole.

In August, the seven states with legal iGaming posted 32.5% annual growth. The six states that have had iGaming for at least a year saw at least 27% revenue increases with Delaware leading the way at more than 419%.
