There were plenty more treats than tricks for online casino revenue in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania in October.

The three states each posted record online casino revenue numbers in October, continuing a trend of increased revenue in 2022.

PA online casinos hit single biggest month with nearly $152 million

Pennsylvania’s online casinos put together a gigantic month, bringing in $151.9 million. The record was not only an all-time high for the state, but it was also the single biggest month for online casino revenue in the entire country.

The state’s previous record was $147.7 million in MarchThe record before that? Nearly $130 million in January.

Broken down by type of game, Pennsylvania online casinos brought in:

  • $113.5 million through slot games
  • $35.7 million via table games
  • $2.5 million from poker

New Jersey online casinos break record with more than $147 million

Though it didn’t quite break the $152 million mark, Pennsylvania’s neighbor to the east put together a fantastic month. New Jersey’s online casino revenue topped out at $147.2 million, setting a record for the state and marking only the second time online casinos brought in more than $140 million.

Previous to this past month, the record high was $140.6 million.

October’s unbelievable numbers represented a 15.9% year-on-year increase. The record-breaking online gambling revenue in October followed up a historic September in which the state’s online casinos ed $5 billion in total all-time revenue.

BetMGM helps shatter Michigan online casino all-time high

As one of the top three online casino markets in the nation, Michigan online casino records also have a chance to break US records, too. In October, the state’s online casinos brought in $141 million, up 9.5% from September.

The previous high for one month was $132.4 million in April.

Michigan’s October was so good for online casinos, they tallied the fourth-highest single-month online casino revenue total in United States history.

BetMGM Michigan brought in more than a third of the month’s total with $52.3 million in revenue. That total was a record high for BetMGM. Four other operators set records for monthly online gambling revenue, too:

  1. Eagle Casino & Sports
  2. Four Winds
  3. DraftKings
  4. FanDuel

In all, Michigan online casinos generated $36.3 million in tax revenue for state and local entities.

$150M mark is attainable for top-three online casino markets

Looking ahead to the winter months, is it possible that both New Jersey and Michigan could sur $150 million in revenue? There was a time when that milestone may not have seemed possible.

However, Pennsylvania’s October record proves that the $150 million mark is attainable.

And Pennsylvania may not be done at $150 million, either. The state’s online gambling revenue has broken records three times this year; a $155 million month by the end of the year isn’t out of the question.
