For Vegas-hungry gamblers driving to Sin City from California, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino stands like a welcoming committee at the Nevada border.
But, for more than two years, the sprawling Nevada casino resort closed for COVID and renovations. That closure recently came to an end when Affinity Interactive, the property’s owners, announced Buffalo Bill’s was open for business:
“We’ve been eagerly anticipating the reopening of Buffalo Bill’s for quite some time. We’re excited to show guests the many upgrades we’ve made, and we are confident they will undoubtedly walk away with a new impression of this property.”
Much-needed renovations overhaul aging resort
Buffalo Bill’s is a stunning site for drivers ing along Interstate 15. Its brick-red hotel reaches more than 10 stories, a monorail weaves through the property’s parking lot.
And, to top it off, Desperado, a mile-long roller coaster, snakes its way around the resort.
As captivating as the property is, time had taken its toll on Buffalo Bill’s in the 26 years it had been open. So, Affinity extended the property’s COVID closure to do much-needed renovations.
The property now includes:
- Redesigned hotel rooms that mix the resort’s Wild West theme with clean, modern touches
- An updated casino floor
- A new casino bar called “Tree Bar,” which features a giant tree and 85-inch TVs
- BB Chophouse, a new steakhouse with a live-action kitchen in the middle of the dining floor
- Updates to entertainment venue Desert Arena, including the addition of a $500,000 video wall
Nevada casino resort reopens to rocky reviews
Reviewers on Google give the newly renovated property mixed reviews. Many customers complained about the limited access to restaurants and slots.
Those who stayed at the hotel complained about dirty rooms and broken amenities. Slow waits at restaurants and bars seemed to be an issue for multiple guests, too.
A Buffalo Bill’s representative responded to multiple reviews. In several cases, they mentioned that updates were ongoing. However, the company’s statement about the reopening did not mention ongoing updates.
In general, reviews seem to indicate the property is still rolling out various amenities. And that it may be facing staffing issues.
YouTuber Miles to Memories Vegas confirmed that several restaurants are closed. Additionally, the resort’s monorail, roller coaster, and other rides are closed, too.
Buffalo Bill’s is part of three resorts in the area
The renovated Buffalo Bill’s property is part of a trio of resorts in Primm, Nevada. A monorail connects Buffalo Bill’s to Primm Valley Resort Casino and Whiskey Pete’s.
Buffalo Bill’s and Whiskey Pete’s smack of the glitzy kitsch common to Las Vegas casinos. But Primm Valley is more understated.
All three resorts are open for business.
